Evelyn Delores Murray, 89 of Mason City, died Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa.

Evelyn was born February 7, 1927, the daughter of William and Clara (Schoening) Stein in rural Fergus Falls, MN. She was united in marriage to E.J. "Bud" Murray on August 24, 1946, in Elizabeth, MN.

Evelyn grew up and attended country school in rural Fergus Falls, before going to work at the local hospital at the age of 14. She also worked as a waitress, made fishing rods in Spencer, IA, and worked at Metalcraft and Warehouse Market in Mason City.

Evelyn enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking and had quite the collection of church recipe books. She loved fishing, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Evelyn is survived by three sons, James (Kerry) Murray of Hazelwood, MO, Kai Murray of Iowa City, and Vincent Murray of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Shaun, Shannon, Timothy, Terrence, and Kevin; six great-grandchildren, Meagan, Evan, William, Gabriel, Benjamin, and Addison; and a sister, Marjorie Stafford of Fergus Falls, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Dorothy Grant.
