Victor J. Miller, 73, of 620 Briarstone Dr., Apt. 31, Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 419 N. Delaware, Mason City, with the Rev. Mark Lavrenz, officiating. Following cremation, inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, where a flag folding ceremony will be conducted by members of Mason City Veteran's Memorial Association.

Memorials may be given to the Victor J. Miller Memorial Fund.

Victor J. Miller was born April 8, 1931 in Stacyville, Iowa, a son of Hubert and Rena (Michels) Miller. Victor was raised on a farm near Stacyville and received his education in the Stacyville area. He served in the US Army during the Korean War as an artillery specialist.

He married Norma Jean Feldt on April 8, 1952 at Osage, Iowa. Norma Jean preceded him in death in 1985.

Victor worked at Jacob E. Decker/Armour Foods for 33 years, retiring in 1983. He later served as a maintenance supervisor at the IOOF Home, Mason City for four years.

Victor married Marie G. Coe on May 23, 1986 at Mason City.

He enjoyed golfing, dancing, playing cards, picture jigsaw puzzles, and reading. Victor and Marie enjoyed spending several winters in McAllen, Texas.

He held several memberships, including Fellowship Club and Life Membership in the VFW and he served as an Elder at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Miller, Mason City; daughters, Karen (Michael) Woodcock, Rochester, Minn., Sandi Cates, Clear Lake, Janet Sampson, Mason City; one step daughter, Suzanne (Ron) Minert, Clear Lake; four grandchildren, Jennifer Sampson, Russ Sampson, Jason Cates, and Joey Cates; six step-grandchildren, Deborah (Mike) Matarrozo, Robert Coe and wife (Allison), Abby (Rob) Botham, Travis Bailey, Ryan Bailey, and Matt Bailey; six step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann Mayer, Austin, Minn. and Magdaline (Duane) Judd , Albert Lea, Minn.; and two sisters-in-law, Anna Miller, Austin, Minn., Mary Ellen Miller, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Norma Jean; brothers, Ivan and Leo, step brother, Clarence, and a stepson, James D. Coe.
