Obituary ~ Jane (BAUER) EMMERT
February 10, 1852 ~ March 31, 1931

MASON CITY -- Mrs. G.L. Emmert, 79, who lived about three miles east of town, died Tuesday morning at a local hospital. She had been ill a little more than a week.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Patterson Funeral Home and at 2:30 o'clock at the Alliance Tabernacle with the Rev. J.A. Schmidt in charge and the Rev. P.W. Pfaltzgraff assisting. A quartet consisting of the Rev. Mr. Schmidt, Mrs. Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Williams will sing.

Pallbearers will be John Wilcox, Frank Hofler, C.W. Pippert, Frank Krause, S.C. Hill and C.E. Sweet.

Mrs. Emmert before her marriage was Jane Bauer. She was born Feb. 10, 1852 at Helenville, Wis. She and Mr. Emmert were married Jan. 20, 1881.

In 1885, four years after she was married, she and her husband moved to Cerro Gordo County where she has lived since then. She had lived on the same place for the past 29 years.

Mrs. Emmert is survived by three sons, Benjamin Frank Emmert and Frank Leonard Emmert, both of Mason City and Arthur L. Emmert, Cannon Falls, Minn; one brother Ed Bauer, Fort Atkinson, Wis.

All three sons were with Mrs. Emmert when she died. Mr. Emmert died Sept. 16, 1930.
