MASON CITY — Imogene Emmert, 78, of 1039 Second St. N.W., died Monday (Feb. 1, 2005) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Ed Bard, Chaplain, Hospice of North Iowa, officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of North Iowa.

Imogene was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Mason City, the daughter of Earl and Edith (Cooper) Whitney. A lifelong resident of Mason City, Imogene married George O. Emmert on June 11, 1947, in Austin, Minn.

She enjoyed playing cards, animals and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Imogene is survived by her husband, George O. Emmert, of Mason City; daughters, Julie Mohler of Kensett and Debra Paulson and husband, Dan, of Klemme; grandchildren, Shane Emmert and wife, Polly, Colette Perry, Nicole Ketchum and fiance, Marco Balderas, and Rochelle Quiroz and husband, Manuel; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Catherine Lundquist and husband, Keith, of Phoenix, Ariz., Raymond Whitney of Scottsdale, Ariz., Wanda Luther of Riverside, Calif., Fayne Whitney and wife, Betty, of Galt, Calif., Royal Whitney of Mason City, Karolyn Jones and husband, Jim, of Iowa Falls, Nancy Panther and husband, Gene, of Eldora, Jerry Whitney and wife, Erica, of Mason City; many nieces and nephews.

Imogene's parents; two sisters, Martha Young and Marjorie Saylor; brother, Melvin Whitney; sister-in- law, Barbara Whitney; great-grandson, Hunter Perry-Pihl; and son-in-law, George "Rusty" Mohler preceded her in death.
