Elwin David "Bud" Ebaugh, 93, went 'home to be with the Lord' Monday, June 9, 2014, at Heritage Care & Rehabilitation Center in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, Iowa with the Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour before the service.

Bud was born April 27, 1921, in Clear Lake, Iowa, to Edwin Lewis and Ethel Mabel (Worden) Ebaugh.

He married Helen Francis Harbeson June 16, 1943, at the Methodist Church in Clear Lake.

When married, Bud initially farmed with his father on the family farm by Fertile. He then moved to Mason City in 1959 and was employed at Jacob E. Decker's and Co. until the closing of the plant in 1975 when he retired. He went back to work and was employed at the Mason City Public Library as the building and grounds supervisor until retiring again this time at the age of 70.

Bud loved his flower garden and keeping his yard in excellent shape. He also was very generous supporting many different causes such as several Christian ministries and the Mason City Salvation Army — all had a special place in his heart for the work they do. He was a beloved father and his kindness will be greatly missed.

Bud is survived by his wife Helen, two sons: David (Vickie) Ebaugh, Avon, Minn; Thomas (Melinda) Ebaugh, Sioux Falls, S.D.; four grandsons: David, Jason, Nathan, and Matthew Ebaugh; two step-grandsons: James and Jesse Boyda; one step-granddaughter: Miranda Doss; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Ebaugh, and his mother, Ethel Ebaugh, his sisters Wilma Harlan and Helen DeBell, and nephew Donald DeBell Jr.
