SUMMERVILLE, S.C. -- Douglas Reeve Eldridge, 45, of Summerville, S.C., formerly of Clear Lake, Iowa, died Saturday (June 10, 1995) at the Clarendon County Hospital as a result of a two-vehicle accident at Manning, S.C. on June 9, 1995.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the All Saints Chapel, Naval Weapon Station, Goose Creek, S.C. Burial will be private. Parks Funeral Home, of Summerville, S.C., is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Douglas Reeve Eldridge was born Feb. 7, 1950, in Mason City, Iowa, to Reeve Eldridge and Maxine (nee) Asland Eldridge. He attended and graduated from Clear Lake High School. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy in Interior Communications. He was employed with a telecommunications company out of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Eldridge was a Vietnam War veteran, serving 18 years in the United States Navy and two years in the Army. He was in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Elks Club in Mason City, Iowa. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Christina M. Eldridge of Summerville; his parents, Reeve and Maxine Eldridge of Clear Lake, Iowa; two daughters, Alisha A. Osborne of North Charleston, S.C., and Renee L. McCoy of Beaufort, S.C.; two brothers, Terry Eldridge of Fertile, Iowa; and Mark Eldridge of Clear Lake, Iowa; one sister, Lois Barringer of Chelmsford, Mass.; and two grandchildren.
