Timothy R. Neubauer, 58, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday (October 30, 2013) at his home in Clear Lake.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (November 4, 2013) at the First Congregational Church, 205 W. 10th Ave. N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Brad Thornton presiding. Burial will follow in the Salem Memorial Cemetery, Lake Mills.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon (November 3, 2013) from 3-6 p.m. at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, and will continue one hour prior to Tim’s service at the church on Monday.

Timothy Roger Neubauer was born on July 13, 1955 in Wells, Minn., the son of Roger and Catherine “Katie” (Siebert) Neubauer. He attended and graduated from Wells High School among the class of 1973. Following his graduation Tim attended Mankato Technical Vocational School, earning a degree in retail management.

On October 9, 1976 Tim was united in marriage to Dorthy Knudtson in Lake Mills, together they would be blessed with two children, John and Jennifer.

For 13 years Tim owned and operated Tim’s Clothing in Lake Mills. In 1992 the family moved to Clear Lake where he and Paul Gagnon purchased the Quick Shop, together they operated the business for over 20 years. Tim loved the employees of the Quick Shop and thought of them as family.

Tim’s greatest love and enjoyment was his family; he cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Tim had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others in a time of need.

In his free time Tim loved spending afternoons on the golf course, tending to his yard, boating on Clear Lake, and loved grilling; he was known for grilling the best steak around. Tim was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan and always was cheering the Hawks on to victory, especially during the NCAA basketball tournament, and always showed his “Hawk pride” with his “Hawkeye Gold” Hummer. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas to attend the Country Music Awards and watching the Rodeos.

Those grateful in sharing in his life are his wife, Dorthy, Clear Lake; children, John Neubauer, Clear Lake, and Jennifer (Steven) Farquhar, Bondurant; grandchildren, Hayden and Emmalyn Farquhar, and Jules Neubauer; mother in law, Evelyn Knudtson, Lake Mills; siblings, Linda (Chuck) Butler, Austin, TX, Julie (Paul) Kauffmann, Forest City, Mark (Ellen) Neubauer, Fairmont, Minn.; brothers and sister in law, David (GayJean) Knudtson, Forest City, Diane Ranes, Lake Mills, Donald (Nancy) Knudtson, Lake Mills, Doug (Melissa) Knudtson, Kiester, Minn., and Kenny Benton, Fairmont, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives and many friends.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents; his father in law, Victor Knudtson; his sister, Lucinda Benton; his brother in law, Todd Ranes; and his nephew, Thomas James Knudtson.
