June M. Collins December 24, 1917 - August 4, 2017
Mason City | June M. Collins, 99, of Mason City, died Friday (August 4, 2017) at the Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mason City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Monday (August 7, 2017) at Epiphany Parish-Holy Family Catholic Church, 722 N Adams Ave, Mason City with Reverend Austin Wilker officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

A Rosary will be held at 2pm Sunday (August 6, 2017) followed by a Scriptural Wake Service, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City, visitation will continue until 4pm.

June Mina Collins was born on December 24, 1917, the daughter of Ralph and Wilhemina (Hartzell) Ludeke, in rural Hancock County, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Garner High School before getting her teaching certification in Des Moines.

She taught at Holy Family for several years and taught country school in Klemme.

June married Daniel F. Collins on July 12, 1941 in Klemme, Iowa, and to this union two children were born, Daniel R. and Virginia.

She was a member of Epiphany Parish Holy Family Catholic Church and volunteered at the Discovery Shop. In her free time, June enjoyed reading, sewing, and helping her husband with his insurance business.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Daniel R. Collins and his wife Betsy, Williamsburg, VA, and Virginia Raible, Mason City; four grandchildren, Danielle Collins and her husband Pete Daun, Douglas Battleson, Dean Battleson and his wife Heather, and Steve Battleson; 6 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marilyn Coulter and her husband Eldon, Winterset, IA; special nieces and nephew, Eldonna Skahill, Juanita Coulter, and Lance Coulter; as well as many other family and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Wilhemina “Mina” Ludeke, her husband, Daniel F. Collins, one sister, Doris Dominic and one brother, Stanley Ludeke.
