MASON CITY - Robert D. "Bob" Bohl, 74, of 1616 N. Delaware Ave., died Wednesday (April 10, 2002) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

His funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with the Rev. Daird Korth of Bethlehem Lutheran Church officiating. Following services, the body will be cremated.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Robert D. "Bob" Bohl Memorial Fund.

Bob was born March 13, 1928, in Forest City, the son of Andrew and Emma (Curtis) Bohl. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. Bob was employed as a plumber for Payne Plumbing & Heating for 38 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Mason City; three sons, Ricky Bohl and wife, Hiroko, of Mason City, Doug Bohl and wife, Pat, of Mason City, and Robin Bohl and wife, Sara, of Mason City; daughter, Roberta Pappas and husband, Jeff, of Mason City; four stepchildren, Mark Rasmusson and wife, Cindy, of Clear Lake, Jeff Rasmusson, of Mason City, Scott Rasmusson and wife, Rebecca, of Poplarville, Miss., and Christal Jones and husband, Jeff, of Franklinton, La.; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Phyllis Weydert and husband, Simon, of Rockwell, Bonnie Borchardt and husband, Dale, of Rock Falls, Rosalie Paulson and husband, Roger, of Rock Falls, and Karen Edgar and husband, Bill, of Colfax; brother-in-law, Thorvald Sorensen, of Plymouth; sisters-in-law, Gerry and Dorothy Bohl; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Emma; two sons, Russell and Andrew; two brothers, LeRoy and Randall; and one sister, Beverly Sorensen.
