Bonnie L. Olinger, 79, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday (May 23, 2017) at the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Per her wishes, Bonnie was cremated and a visitation will be held from 5 until 7pm, Thursday (May 25, 2017) at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th Street, Clear Lake, with a Sharing of Memories at 6:30.

A family inurnment will be held 10:30am Friday (May 26, 2017) at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of customary remembrances, Bonnie’s family suggests memorials to the Muse Norris Inpatient Unit, Hospice of North Iowa, 232 2nd St SE, Mason City, Iowa 50401.

Bonnie Lea Olinger was born on January 12, 1938 in Clear Lake, the daughter of Lloyd and Jennieve (Miller) Hunt. She graduated from Thornton High School in 1956, before she moved to Clear Lake. Bonnie married Harold Olinger on January 25, 1959 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, and to this union, three children were born, Teresa, Terry and Tracy.

Bonnie worked at Halford’s Café and Maid Rite for a few years before working at the Clear Lake Bakery where she was a bakery assistant and then an office manager for 33 years, retiring in 1999.

She enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing and traveling, but she most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family. She was a member of the Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Teresa Conrad, Clear Lake, Terry (Shelly) Olinger, Bellevue, NE, and Tracy Olinger, Mililani, HI; her granddaughters, Shannon Orth, Phoenix, AZ and Leah Conrad, St. Joseph, MO; her sister, Shirley Eibey, Clear Lake; her brothers and sisters-in law, Marlys Younkin, Marge Wenzel, Gary Olinger, Richard Olinger, Marcia (Dennis) Anderson, and Kurt (Tip) Olinger; her special friends, JoAnn Burns and Chuck Martens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Olinger, her parents, Lloyd and Jennieve (Miller) Hunt, and a brother-in-law, Richard Eibey.
