Arnold was born August 22, 1925, the son of William and Mayme (Matson) Duitscher in Thornton on the family farm. He married Madelyn “Torch” McCauley on May 21, 1949, in Albert Lea, MN. To this union they were blessed with five children.

He later worked for Payne Plumbing and Heating in Mason City for 39 years.

Arnold was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mason City, Clear Lake VFW, and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association. Anyone that knew Arnold knows working and farming was a big part of his life. The family farm is a Century Farm that he took pride in. He enjoyed watching any and all sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, Cincinnati Reds, college basketball, and the monthly class reunion committee meetings. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with them.
