Colette Joann (Moeller) Orcutt, 82, peacefully passed away at Walker Methodist Health Care Center, Minneapolis, Minn., on July 2, 2016 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

A celebration of life service was held on Tuesday, July 12, at the Chapel at Walker Methodist. This was Colette’s church home for the past two years and she attended services there every Sunday.

Colette attended Roosevelt High School and Drake University in Des Moines. On Aug. 13, 1953, Colette was united in marriage to Bill Orcutt. They made their home in Urbandale, Iowa and spent many happy years summering in Clear Lake, until moving to Clear Lake full time after their retirement. After Bill passed away, Colette moved to Minneapolis to be closer to family.

Colette had a wide circle of lifelong friends from her days at Drake, Delta Zeta Sorority, PEO, Knox Presbyterian Church in Des Moines and First Congregational Church in Clear Lake. Colette’s greatest passions were her family, friends, and faith. She also had a great love of tennis, boating, and big band dancing with her husband.

Anybody who knew Colette will always remember her grace, her unconditional love and her endearing smile that would light up the room.

Colette is survived by her sister, Marilyn Coon, of Fort Smith, Ark., her son, Dennis Orcutt of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Lyn Proffitt, of Portland, Ore., daughter, Kristi Brakken, of Minneapolis; and by her eight grandchildren, Amber, Max, Paige, Madison, Carly, Brooklyn, Kelly, Jack and one great-grandchild, Olivia.

Colette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; her parents, Otto and Elsie Moeller; and her brother, Mark Moeller.

Memorials in honor of Colette may be sent to the Walker Methodist Foundation, at 3737 Bryant Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55409. Please mark donations for Colette Orcutt Memorial.
