Starr Lang, 60 of Clear Lake, Iowa died unexpectedly, Monday, February 29, 2016 at her home.

Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City, Iowa with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Iowa. Visitation will be Friday, March 11 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and then one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Family suggests memorials to Starr Lang Memorial fund.

Starr was born August 7, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Thomas R. and Viola (Benson) Moen.

She graduated from Mason City High School in 1973. Following high school she attended the nursing program at N.I.A.C.C. In 1974 she started working for Krieger’s Greenhouse and Floral in Mason City. She then attended Cliff Mann School of Floral Designs, Denver, Colorado. She managed Krieger’s Floral and Garden in Clear Lake. From 2011 until the time of her death, she worked as floral designer at Hy-Vee East.

She married Clifford “C.J.” Lang, her high school sweetheart, March 25, 1977 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City, Iowa. They enjoyed following their son Cale who participated in Mohawk Hockey, Clear Lake Football and racing go karts at Forest City.

Starr enjoyed fixing dinner and entertaining Cale’s friends and classmates. Her passion was flowers, working in her yard and interacting with friends and customers.

She is a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Mason City and during high school was a member of Mason City Order of Rainbow Girls, serving as Worthy Advisor.

Starr is survived by her son Cale Lang and his fiancée Jenny Wyborny, Clear Lake, Iowa; her sisters Linda Moen (Fred) Muth, Clear Lake, Iowa, and their sons Shane (Julie) Muth and children Kyla and Kyan, Clear Lake, Shad Muth, significant other Kellie Parcus, Midlothian, Texas, Karen Moen (Herb) Krieger and their children Tim (Whitney) Krieger and daughters Sydney and Summer, Holly (Robert) Bozaich and their sons Mason and Maddox, Prior Lake, Minnesota and Todd Krieger and sons Clint, Jed and Max, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Molly (Dave) Goetzinger, Mason City and their children Dr. Chris (Heidi) Goetzinger, Marion, Iowa and their son Grady, Marion, Iowa, and Ryan and Abby, of Des Moines, Iowa; nephew Nathan (Amber) Lang, St. James, MN.; niece Nicci (Chris) Wilson and their children, Corgan, Ardyn and Avery, St. Paul, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband C.J. Lang Sept. 19, 2014; her mother–in-law and father-in-law Art and Margaret Lang, brother-in-law David Lang and niece Vicki Krieger.
