Ronda Lee Donaghy, the daughter of Larry and Mary (Ziemann) Donaghy, was born December 6, 1966, in Mason City, IA. She grew up in Clear Lake, where she attended Clear Lake schools and graduated with the Clear Lake High School Class of 1985. She had been confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake in her childhood.

Following graduation she continued her life long career as a care provider at Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, where she was employed at the time of her death. Ronda's passion for helping those with special needs commenced when she had been a student volunteer at the Opportunity Village at the age of 12, and solidified when she began working as a Sophomore in high school. She truly was a gift to the residents and considered the vocation as more than just a job. She considered her clients family, a feeling that was mutually shared. Ronda would always go above and beyond the requirements of her job to provide the care they needed and relished occasions to take them out dinner and about on special adventures, shopping and other excursions. Her love for the staff and residents will be truly missed.

Ronda was very much a family person, who looked forward to any occasion that meant times with her parents, siblings, husband Mike, step children, and nieces and nephews. She was always interested in each of them. Her gentle demeanor and genuine concern for the well being of all who she considered as friends will be cherished by all who crossed in her life path ways.

Ronda was united in marriage to Michael Mennenga, August 3, 2003, at the UCC Church in Latimer, IA. They had made their home in Klemme for many years.

Ronda loved the outdoors and camping with friends and family. One would often see her and Mike and others sitting around the campfire, making her delicious smores and pie iron delights. The two enjoyed relaxing in their yard after work as they would barbeque their evening meals with her favorite country tunes filling the air. The two also shared an interest in deer and pheasant hunting, fishing and a love for their dog and cat. In more recent times Ronda had taken up handgun shooting and even got her conceal carry permit. She was a devoted Packers fan, member of the NRA and in earlier years loved to attend the North Iowa Huskies hockey games. Instead of a sweet tooth her favorite indulgences were popcorn and sunflower seeds.

Ronda's gentle personality, welcoming smile and non-judgmental love for others will be missed by all who knew her.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of Mike Mennenga, 528, East Hancock St., Klemme, IA 50449, and stepsons Ray (Sharon) Mennenga, Mason City, IA, and Cole Mennenga, Alexander, IA; her parents, Larry and Mary Donaghy, Clear Lake, IA; brother, David Donaghy, and his kids Zachary (Amanda) Donaghy and family Vanessa, Joe, and Walter, all of Grimes, IA, and Jacob (Becky) Donaghy and their son, Oliver, all of Springville, IA; Ronda's sister, Tammi (Davey) Goodale and their children, Chloe and Justin all of Osage, IA; many uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents, Maxine and Benedict Ziemann, her in-laws, Arthur and Sally Mennenga, and step-son, Andrew (A.J) Mennenga.
