TACOMA, Wash. -- Loretta M. Andon, 97, of 7445 S. Prospect, Tacoma, died Friday (Aug. 29, 1997) at Orchard Park Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, 1224 S. Washington Ave., Mason City, Iowa, with the Rev. Carl Ries of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.

There will be no visitation. Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the Loretta M. Andon Memorial Fund.

Loretta was born Nov. 8, 1899, at Eau Claire, Wis., daughter of Edward and Ernestina (Brovski) Wendt. She graduated from high school in Eau Claire, Wis. Loretta was married to George A. Andon on March 8, 1919, in Minnesota.

She lived in Manly, Iowa, before moving to Mason City, Iowa, and she moved to Tacoma in 1981. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, Iowa.

Survivors include daughters, Frances Berry, Anaheim, Calif.; Eleanor Harris, Owatonna, Minn.; Bessie Casteel, Tacoma, Wash., and Sylvia "Peggy" Guertin and her husband, Don, Roseburg, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Kathryn "Kay" Andon of Mason City, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; five sisters; five brothers; and son, John, in May of 1993.

Arrangements are being handled by Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City.
