Marion J. (Taylor) Funk was born on Thursday; December 1, 1932 in Davenport; Scott County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas and Melita (Schmidt) Taylor.

She was married to Frederick "Fritz Funk in 1949 in Princeton, Missouri, they were life long Mason City residents. Marion worked as a CNA at Mercy Hospital for seventeen years, Heritage Care Center and then Good Shepherd Health Center for twenty-two years. She enjoyed gardening and also crocheting in her younger years. Marion loved spending time with her family and friends and was especially fond of her grandchildren.

Marion J. (Taylor) Funk, age 76, passed away on Saturday; June 13, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.

Those left to mourn her passing are: Her children, Cathy Arndt and husband Cyrus of Mason City, Vicki Bramsen and husband Dennis "Butch" of Mason City, Molly Beier of Mason City and Jayme and wife Keri Funk of Mason City; twelve grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Frank Funk and wife Marjorie of Mason City; sister-in-law, Mary Allen and husband Jesse of Mason City and Regina Ackerman of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick "Fritz" Funk; son, Stephen Funk; grandson, Christopher Bramsen; great-grandson, Brandon Regan; and brothers, Donald, Lambert, and John Taylor. May they rest in peace.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday; June 17, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Bard, Chaplain-Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Marion Funk memorial fund in care of the family.
