Harold Ditch, 80, of Mason City, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30AM Tuesday (December 18, 2007) at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 South Pierce Ave., with the Rev. Paul Collier officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00PM Monday (December 17, 2007) at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave, with a Masonic Service at 6:30 PM. Interment will be at the Hampton Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Harold Ditch memorial fund or Hospice of North Iowa.

Harold was born November 24, 1927 in Hampton. He was the son of Oscar and Nellie (Allinson) Ditch. Harold attended school in Sheffield and Hampton. He graduated from Hampton High School in 1945.

He was a supervisor for Maytag for 33 years before retiring in 1981.

Harold was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was Deacon, a member of Benevolence Lodge #145 A.F. & A.M., and Mason City York Rite Bodies. He was a member of High Twelve and a former member of the El Kahir Shrine. He also did volunteer work for the RSVP. His favorite pastimes were woodworking and golf. .

Harold is survived by his wife: Lois Ditch; 10 children and step-children: Alan Ditch and wife Joette of Tucson, AZ, Dean Ditch of Rocheport, MO., Karen VanBlair and husband Rick of Niceville, FL., Jackie Stiles and husband Mike of Rudd, IA, John Redeker of Des Moines, IA, Jean Creekmur and husband Mark of Marshalltown, IA, Julie Terlisner and husband Kim of Mason City, Deb Johnson and husband Jerry of Marshalltown, IA, Michael Sieleman of Bath, Maine, and Jim Sieleman and wife Cathy of Bettendorf, IA; one nephew: Neil Ditch and wife Denise of Hampton, IA. He is also survived by four grandchildren, 17 step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives: Gladys and Alice Ann; one brother: Harlan Ditch and one step great grandson: Jordan McKibben.
