MASON CITY — Phyllis R. Bruns, 79, of 923 N. Tyler Ave. died Thursday (April 12, 2001) at her home.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 213 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Phyllis R. Bruns Memorial Fund.

Phyllis was born July 27, 1921 in Mason City, the daughter of Jacob and Clara (Lee) Hanschu. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1939 and LaJames Beauty College in 1942.

Phyllis married Lee V. Bruns in 1950 in Freeport, Ill. She was a lifelong resident of Mason City and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, Terry Lee Bruns, of Mason City; one brother, Kermit Hanschu and his wife, Aleen, of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Clarice Stenby, of Los Angeles, Calif., Gerald Eads, of Hobbs, N.M., and Rosine Garrison and her husband, Howard, of Brownsville, Texas.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
