January 18, 2014BELLEVUE - Hallie Lee (Paschka) Bricker, age 82, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, Ill.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1931, in Chaska, Minn., to Erwin F. and Myrtle E. (Johnson) Paschka. She married William "Bill" F. Bricker on Aug. 21, 1951.
She was preceded in death by one son, William K. Bricker; her husband, William F. Bricker; three brothers, Merlin "Sonny" Paschka, William "Pudge" Paschka and Duane "Bud" Paschka; and one sister, Rosemarie "Rosy" Varnes.
Survivors include one son, Scott (Ronnie Parr) Bricker of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Nelda (Joe) Fick of Minnesota and Meredith "Toots" Paschka of Iowa; two grandchildren, Michell Storm of Chicago and Cassandra (Curtis) Hake of Bartonville; and six great-grandchildren, Cole, Mackenzie, Ryan, Gwendolyn, Michael and Madalyn.
Hallie graduated from Mason City High School in 1949. During her husband's time in the Navy, she lived throughout the United States, including Alaska. After Bill retired from the military, he and she became owners of the Sportsman's Hideaway on Laramie in Peoria, where she also was a bartender. During her retirement, she worked part time bartending at several other establishments in the Peoria area.
Hallie was a kind, generous person who loved her family and friends very much.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and private family services have been held. [Interment was made at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.]
Arrangements are by Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
