MASON CITY -- Robert H. Braun, 79, of 813 N. Taylor, died Sunday (Dec. 1, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave. with the Rev. David Shogren of the Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be no visitation, the body was cremated.

Memorials may be given to the Robert H. Braun Memorial Fund.

Robert H. Braun was born March 14, 1917, the son of Henry and Ruby (Daniels) Braun of Algona. Bob married Lucille Halsrud on Sept. 25, 1937 in Rockwell city. Bob worked as a delivery man for Wonder Bread for over 20 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Braun of Mason City; one son, Duane Braun and wife June of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Sharon Belseth and husband Eugene of Mason City and Judy Borger and husband John of Mason City; nine grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Braun and wife Mitte of Deadwood, Ore.; two sisters, Agnes Braun of Spirit Lake, and Wilma Anderson and husband Charles of Waterford, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Frances, Margaret and Elsie.
