MASON CITY — Cindy L. Blumer-Francis, 44, of Mason City, died Wednesday (Sept. 15, 2004) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hogan- Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with Pastor Wendy Johannesen officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held at noon until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Cindy L. Blumer- Francis Memorial Fund.

Cindy L. Francis was born on Jan. 13, 1960, in Britt, Iowa, a daughter of Harold Blumer and Marlys (Rafferty) Hyland. She received her education through the Mason City and Des Moines Public School systems. Cindy met Steve Francis in 1979 and they have been together for 25 years.

Cindy had several odd jobs throughout her life but her number one job was taking care of her family. She was an incredibly caring and loving person. Cindy loved to collect Hot Wheels with her husband. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and animals. She loved working in her flower garden, "dock diving," fishing, and arts and crafts. She was a member of the Hot Wheels Club of Iowa.

And in February 2004, Cindy's wish of seeing the ocean became possible.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Steve Francis, Mason City; six children, Tanya (Brad) Dalluge, of Grafton; Jeff (Tina) Francis, of Manly; Heather Blumer, formerly of Des Moines; Hanna Blumer and Angela and Nicholas Francis, all at home; her parents, Marlys (Bob) Hyland, of Des Moines; Harold (Dorothy) Blumer, of Garner; one sister, Sheila Blumer, of Garner; two brothers, Doug Blumer, of Mason City; and Thomas Blumer, of Garner; six grandchildren, Jacob, Damon, and Cierra Dalluge; Jacey and Zoey Francis and Anthony Harris. Cindy is also survived by Steve's family, his mother, Joyce Francis, of Mason City; his sister, Dawn Francis, of Mason City; his three brothers, Mark (Jean) Francis, of Mason City; Dave (Theresa) Francis, of Sheffield; and Chip (Janet) Francis, of Oxford, Iowa; her special aunts, Dixie Hayward, of Des Moines and Nancy Reible, of Wisconsin; a special friend, Danika Piper, of Mason City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Elsie Rafferty and Jacob and Fannie Blumer; a grandchild, Christian Dalluge; Steve's father, Cecil J. Francis; Steve's brother, Gerald Francis; two special cousins, Jody Kaster and Karen Asmus; and several aunts and uncles.
