VENICE, Fla. -- Margaret R. Brown, 92, of Venice, Fla., died Wednesday (Aug. 30, 1995) in Venice.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995, at the Venice United Church of Christ.

Farley Funeral Home and Crematory of Venice is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the Venice United Church of Christ, 620 Shamrock Blvd., Venice, Fla. 34293 or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, c/o Sahib Temple, 600 North Beneva Road, Sarasota, Fla. 33582.

Margaret was born in Mason City, Iowa on April 28, 1903.

She came to the Venice area from Mason City, Iowa, 28 years ago, where she was Deputy Clerk of the District Court from 1920 for 26 years.

She retired as manager of the Cerro Gordo Abstract Company after 21 years of employment.

She was a member of the Venice United Church of Christ. She was past president of the American Legion Post 101 Mason City, past president and charter member of Pilot International in Mason City; a member of the 40 + 8 Club, life member of the Venice Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers, a member of the Audubon Society National and [illegible] levels, a member of the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, and a member of LIFE AND HOSPICE.

She was an avid bowler and golfer.

Survivors include her two sisters, Eleanor Johannsen and Charlotte Leaman, both of Mason city; and nine nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by Maxwel E. Riley in 1968 and also Weston Ackley Brown, who died in 1980.
