VENTURA -- Randall D. Becker, 31, of Ventura, formerly of Oelwein, died Thursday (June 20, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Center East, Mason City, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, 221 N. Frederick Ave., Oelwein, with the Rev. Carroll Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 123 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

There will be further visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, and one hour before services at the funeral home on Monday.

A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Randall David Beckner was born May 12, 1965, at Oelwein, the son of David Beckner and Betty (Kerns) Beckner.

He graduated from the Oelwein Community High School in 1983 and was a former member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein; a member of the North Iowa Ducks Unlimited Chapter; and a member of the North Iowa Bowhunters.

He had lived in the Mason City area for the last 12 years, having worked at General Foods for the last three years.

Survivors include a daughter, Kaila Beckner of Mason City; his mother, Betty Beckner of Oelwein; his father, David Beckner of Burnsville, Minn.; two sisters, Trisha (Mrs. Dan) Mohlis of Reinbeck, and Michelle (Mrs. Joe) Thilges of Dell Rapids, S.D.; two nieces, Ashley and Kaitlin Mohlis; and his maternal grandmother, Carrie L. Kerns of Oelwein.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry and Viola Beckner; and his maternal grandfather, Clarence Kerns.
