Alice L. Thompson, 63, of 322 12th St. N.W., Mason City, died Thursday (Dec. 28, 1995) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center east.

A Mass of the Ressurection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., with the Rev. John R. Kremer officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the Alice L. Thompson Memorial Fund.

Alice was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Yankton, S.D., the daughter of Benjamin and Dolphie (Pecenka) Horacek. Alice married Philip Thompson on April 4, 1956, at Yankton. The Thompson's moved to Mason City in 1969. In 1984, Alice went to work for St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital and retired in 1993.

She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, bowling, golfing and working in the yard.

Survivors include six children, Cecilia Thompson of Minneapolis, Minn., Ann Selva and husband, Gary of Eagan, Minn., Michael Thompson of Grundy Center, Monica Winters and husband, Ryan of Hampton, Rita Dunn and husband, Tom of Mason City, and Tony Thompson and wife, Jeanne of Iowa City; nine grandchildren, Benjamin Philip and Margaret Alice Selva; Theresa, Adam and Paige Winters; Meredith and Gabriel Dunn, and Isaac and Harris Thompson; her mother, Dolphie Horacek of Yankton, S.D.; two sisters, Alma Engle of Ft. Washington, Md., and Dee Esposito of Tulsa, Okla; two brothers, Fran Horacek of Yankton, S.D., and Ben Horacek of Tyndall, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Philip, in 1983; and an infant son, James in 1970.
