Harry Dale Arnold, 86, of 625 S. Connecticut Ave., Mason City, died Tuesday (May 30, 1995) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Carl A. Ries officiating.

Burial will be in the Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery with a military flag folding ceremony by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association. Friends may call beginning at 6:30 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. Scripture prayer service at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. The family of Harry Dale Arnold has requested that memorial contributions be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in his memory.

Harry Dale Arnold was born Aug. 9, 1908, the son of Arthur W. Arnold and Agnes (nee) Cross Arnold in Mason City. He attended and received his education in the St. Joseph Catholic School system, graduating from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1926.

He was inducted into the United States Navy serving on an L.S.T. #1041 during World War II in the Pacific Theatre until his honorable discharge. Harry was always self-employed in which he owned and operated the Standard Oil Station on South Federal and also farmed near Rockwell and Dougherty for many years until his retirement.

He was united in marriage to Hazel Pattschull who preceded him in death in 1954. He was united in marriage to Margaret Rose McGreevy in 1958, who preceded him in death on April 19, 1995.

He was an avid walker and outdoorsman, in which he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life-long member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City.

Survivors include two sons-in-law, Donald Carlson of Rochester, Minn., and Joe Barr of Monticello, Minn.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; Hazel (Pattschull) Arnold; and Margaret Rose (McGreevy) Arnold; two daughters, Ruth Carlson and Jean Barr; and other sibling family members.
