Mrs. Louisa Sykes of Swaldale Is Buried; Five Children Survive

SWALEDALE, Oct. 13. - Funeral services were held here for Mrs. Louisa Sykes and burial was in the Rockwell Sacred Heart cemetery. Mrs. Sykes was born in Potosi, Wis., Dec. 19, 1859. She died suddenly at her home in Swaledale last Wednesday [October 07, 1931]. Her husband preceded her in death May 21, 1908. A daughter, Odelia Sykes, died in March, 1923.

She leaves five children, Joseph Sykes, Swaledale; Mrs. Elmer Dilts, Mason City; Mrs. W. L. Stearns, Mrs. Ray Kiser, Mason City; and Lincoln Sykes, Pensecola, Fla.; six grandchildren, Muriel, Charles, John and Marvyl Kiser and Franklin and David Stearns.

A sister, Mrs. Adam Plumemer (Plummer?) of Potosi, Wis., and her son, Harry, of Waukon and one brother, Anthony Rupp and his two daughters and a son of Edgeby, N. Dak., attended the funeral.
