N. S. Krapp rites to be Wednesday

N. S. (Nick) Krapp, 76, longtime farmer in the Rockwell, Rockford, Dougherty and Marble Rock area, died suddenly Monday morning [January 09, 1961] in Rockwell.

He had lived in the community 55 years and retired in 1956 when he moved to Rockwell. He was elected justice of the peace for Geneseo Township in last fall's election.

Mr. Krapp was born July 24, 1884, near Marble Rock, son of John and Barbara Krapp. He was married to Susie Heinz, Oct. 10, 1905, at Roseville Catholic Church.

A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mr. Krapp also was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Farmer's Co-Op of Rockwell and the North Iowa Golden Wedding Club.

Surviving are his wife, five daughters, Helen Paulus, Ionia; Mrs. Philip (Thelma) Paulus, Bassett; Mrs. Clifford (Cecelia) Mott, Mason City; Mrs. Elmer (Marcella) Spurrier, Davenport; and Mrs. Roy (Loretta) Park, Rockwell; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A sister, Lena Ewald, Adams, Minn., and a brother, Paul Krapp, Pingree, N.D., also survive. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren, two brothers and five sisters.

Requiem high Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rockwell. Father Raymond S. Bohrer will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Friends may call at the family residence at Rockwell after 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Patterson-James Chapel is in charge.
