Mrs. Joe Kirk Is Dead

Mrs Joe Kirk Died Tuesday Night After Long Illness.
Funeral Is To Be Held Today At Sacred Heart Church In Rockwell -
Several From Here Going Over.

Mrs Joe Kirk, living west of town, died last Tuesday [October 4, 1911] after a long illness. She was a lady of about 45 (sic, 47) years of age and was one of the old settlers of this community.

Miss Sarah Campbell came to this vicinity about thirty years ago with her father from Illinois. She had been here about five years when she married Joe Kirk. To this union one son, Frank was born.

Mrs Kirk is very well known to people of this vicinity and her death is taken sorrowfully by all. She leaves to mourn her death, six brothers, one sister, father, husband and son.

The funeral is to be held today at the Catholic church at Rockwell and interment will be made at that place [Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery]. Quite a number from here contemplate on being in attendance.
