Robert H. Halloran, 72, died suddenly Saturday evening at his home, 21 Monroe N. W. He had lived in Mason City about 35 years and was a retired farmer.
Mr. Halloran was born at Ackley May 4, 1881, son of Michael and Ann Carroll Halloran, the last of a family of 12 children and a bachelor. He lived in Ackley until a young man when his parents purchased land at Swaledale and there he farmed until he retired many years ago.
Since retiring he had lived at St. Paul for a number of years and in Mason City since about 1919. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Mason City.
Surviving are 21 nieces and nephews. Living in Mason City are Charles Layden, Mrs. Elmer (Laura) Nangle, Mrs. H. E. Shaffer, Mrs. Claude Potter, Mrs. E. C. Peck and Mrs. Harley (Ann) Weber. Will Halloran, Rockwell; Robert McCauley, Swaledale, a number of nieces and nephews in Ackley, Sioux City, Iowa City, three in California and one in Chicago, also survive.
Requiem high Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father John Reed as celebrant. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Rockwell. The Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
