ROCKWELL - Services for Geneva M. Cahalan, 87, of Rockwell, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell with burial in the Sacred Heard Cemetery. Father Steve Meyer will officiate.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Sacred Heart Parish Chapel. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. with a rosary to follow.

Mrs. Cahalan passed away at the Rockwell Care Center early Saturday morning (March 6, 1999). Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 Second St. S.E., is in charge of arrangements.

Geneva M. (Reineke) Cahalan was born April 23, 1911, to Frank and Sara Jane (Clark) Reineke at Oakland, Iowa. They moved to the Rockwell area in 1919. She attended the Rockwell School system and married M. Francis Cahalan in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell on Sept. 21, 1927. To that union six children were born.

Geneva was active in the Sacred Heart Ladies Guild, a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Gallagher Post $208 of Rockwsell, and an active member of the "500" card club. She retired from the Good Shepherd Health Care Center after serving as a nurse's aid for 17 years at the age of 78. Her hobbies were fishing, playing Bingo and cards.

Geneva is survived by her children, Geraldine and her husband, Roy Crisman, of Wagner, S.D.; Barbara (Doc) Fitzgerald of Mason City; Kenneth and his wife, Henrietta Cahalan, of Mason City; David and his wife, Gloria Cahalan, of Dubuque; Daniel and his wife, Helen, of Rockwell; and Marsha and her husband, Dan Peterson, of Fort Collins, Colo.; one sister, Gladys Wearda of Rockwell; and a brother-in-law, George Simons of Rockwell; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
