Memorial services scheduled for Clear Lake student

CLEAR LAKE - Memorial services have been scheduled for a Clear Lake High School student. Daniel Tank, 15, died Saturday at his home in Clear Lake.

He enjoyed wrestling, playing soccer and running cross country, according to his obituary, and was employed at Fareway and the Clear Lake Mirror Reporter.

His family will greet friends 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harvest Bible Chapel, 2200 N. 24th St. in Clear Lake. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Those who attend are asked to dress casually.

Fareway in Clear Lake will close from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday to allow employees to attend the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Daniel Anthony Tank Memorial Fund in care of his parents, John and Becky Tank.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapels in Clear Lake is handling arrangements.

His obituary appears on Page 17 today.

CLEAR LAKE - Daniel Anthony Tank, 15, of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away Saturday Oct. 24, 2015, at his home.

Celebration of Daniel’s life will be 10 a.m. Thursday Oct. 29, 2015 at Harvest Bible Chapel, 2200 N. 24th St., Clear Lake, Iowa with Pastor John Tank officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, Iowa. Family will greet friends Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Harvest Bible Chapel-Clear Lake. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Daniel Anthony Tank Memorial Fund. The family ask that you please dress casual.

Daniel was born February 11, 2000 in Glendale, Arizona the son of John and Rebecca (Foster) Tank.

Daniel and his family moved to Clear Lake Feb. 2012, where he and his family planted Harvest Bible Chapel. He was a student at Clear Lake High School.

He loved so many things including family, church, friends and sports. He enjoyed wrestling, playing soccer, and running cross country for Clear Lake High School. Daniel worked at Fareway and Clear Lake Mirror Reporter.

Daniel was a ray of sunshine everywhere he went because of his love for God and other people. He was an amazing ambassador for Christ sharing the Gospel with everyone he came in contact with. He will be deeply missed by family and everyone that knew him.

Daniel is survived by his parents John and Becky Tank, Clear Lake, Iowa; two siblings Johnathan and Nattalie Tank, Clear Lake, Iowa; paternal grandparents John and Diane Tank, Phoenix, Arizona; maternal grandmother Marlys Foster, Peoria, Arizona; paternal great-grandmother Naomi Daney, Sun City, Arizona; aunts and uncles Matthew Tank, Phillip and Heather Tank, Nicholas Tank, Todd and Kate Andress, and Danny and Amy Foster and many cousins and all of his extended church family.

He was preceded in death by paternal great-grandparents Anthony and Patricia Tank and maternal grandparents DeVer and Mabel Wilder, Virgil Foster, and Grace Foster.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Daniel Anthony Tank Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers, in care of John and Becky Tank, 2200 N. 24th St., Clear Lake, Iowa 50428.
