PLYMOUTH - Otto F. Benn Sr., 74, of Plymouth died Friday (Dec. 29, 1989) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rockwell, with the Rev. Perry R. Heller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be after 3 P.m. Monday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Benn was born Jan. 15, 1915, in rural Cerro Gordo County to Fred and Margaret (Cassman) Benn. He attended Mason City schools and graduated from Mason City High School in 1931. He worked at Swift & Co. Dairy Products in Mason City and later operated Benn-Willemssen Produce Co. at Portland, unil 1963. He then worked for area farmers until retiring.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed gardening and raising livestock. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge, both of Mason City.

Survivors include a special friend, Addie Hartmann, Plymouth; one daughter, Nancy Spalj, Iowa City; one son, Otto F. Benn Jr., Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; and three sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Rockwell, Marjorie Jerrell, Mason City, and Beverly Nimmo of Downingston, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
