AT REST

There passed from the scenes of earth to those celestial on Sunday last at 2 p.m. Miss Bessie McKinley. She was born in Chicago, October 28, 1875. She therefore was 20 years 10 months and 14 days old. Her father preceded her to the other world by 8 years and her mother by 2 years. Her mother died of the same disease tuberculosis of the lungs which Bessie may have contracted in nursing her.

She leaves one brother and two sisters. She began to fail about Christmas time last year arising from her bed to come to her aunt and cousin Mrs. Dr. Colby and Mrs. Van Cise. All that human hands and loving tender hearts could do was done for Bessie during her short stay among us.

She was a true Christian sweet and uncomplaining and passed into the arms of her Savior without a murmur. During her entire sickness she rarely spoke without a smile, and death had no terrors for her, no sting.

She was buried from her late home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Her body lies in a pretty spot in our Clear Lake cemetery. Rev. Carter conducted the services.
