VETERAN D.A.R. MEMBER IS DEAD
TWO CHILDREN SURVIVE DEATH OF MRS. HENRY MCGOWAN

CLEAR LAKE, Feb. 15. – Mrs. Henry McGowan, North Clausen street, died at her home Saturday morning at 7 o’clock after having been ill for several weeks.

Mrs. McGowan had the honor of being a real granddaughter of the American Revolution. She had been active in D.A.R. and church work for a long time.

Mrs. McGowan leaves two children, Mollie, who teaches in the Mason City schools, and James, of Henderson, Ky. James McGowan is expected to arrive here Sunday morning. Until then, funeral arrangements will not be announced. The body lies at the McGowan home.

Transcriber’s Note – Ella P. McGowan was born December 6, 1850, died February 15, 1930 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 1 Row 6.
