MCCOY RITES AT WILLIAMS
CALIFORNIAN BURIED IN CLEAR LAKE CEMETERY

CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie McCoy, 68, who died at a Clear Lake nursing home Friday evening following a long illness, were held at Williams’ funeral home Monday afternoon. The Rev. C.W. Hicks, pastor of the Church of Christ, and the Rev. Lowell Young, pastor of Alliance Gospel Tabernacle, Mason City, conducted the rites. Burial was in Clear Lake cemetery.

Miss Elaine Adlesman, Mason City, accompanied by Mrs. Audra Paugh, sang “Jesus, Lover of My Soul” and “Haven of rest.” Mmes. R. Jackson and Chester Hill arranged the flowers and Chester and Guy Hill, W. Butler, Oscar Long, A.I. Shook and Henry Doescher were pallbearers.

Mrs. McCoy was born Feb. 13, 1877, in Germany and at the age of 3 came with her parents, William and Bertha Wille, to Whitewater, Wis., where she grew to womanhood. Jan 17, 1895, she was married to John Tesene and they moved to a farm in Lincoln township where 2 children, Roy and Ima, were born. Mr. Tesene died June 11, 1902.

Dec. 5, 1905, she was married to Guy McCoy. They continued to live on the same farm until 1914 when they moved to Oregon and later to Oroville, Cal., where Mr. McCoy died in 1933.

Last July Mrs. McCoy was hospitalized in Oroville and there the doctor advised her to come to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ima Dresback, which she did, arriving Aug. 26. She entered a nursing home in Clear Lake Oct. 8 and then on failed rapidly.

Mrs. McCoy was a lifelong member of the Christian church and was active in its work as long as she was able.

Mrs. McCoy was also preceded in death by her son, Roy Tesene. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Dresback; 4 grandchildren, John Tesene, Manly, and Fern, Tomme Ann and Thomas Mac Dresback, Lincoln township, a sister, Mrs. Owen Gosnell, Three Forks, Mont., several nieces and nephews and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Roberts, mother of John Tesene.
