FORMER LAKER DIED AT THE HOME OF DAUGHTER IN LAWLER

Mrs. E. C. Waller died Friday at Lawler at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas McMahon. She had been in failing health for several years, being bedfast for several weeks.

Services held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. Thomas B. Collins officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake cemetery beside her husband.

Pallbearers were Ira Stewart, Will McGowan, D. H. Culver, Herny Curvo, Will Scherf, and J. C. Richardson. Mrs. Will Rich and Mrs. Paul Miller were in charge of the flowers.

Mrs. Waller nee Emma R. Atwood was a daughter of Pervine and Jane Atwood. She was born at Brodhead, Wis., Greene county on February 18, 1860.

She was married to Elmer C. Waller on February 22, 1881 in Brodhead. They lived on a farm there for one year and then moved to Clear Lake, Ia., and with the exception of a few years the remainder of their lives were spent in Clear Lake.

Mrs. Waller had many friends and acquaintantances here, having engaged in the millinery business for many years in Clear Lake.

Three daughters were born to the couple, Mabel, now Mrs. Thomas McMahon of Lawler; Ivy, now Mrs. Trev Gillaspie of Lincoln, Neb., and Hazel, who died in infancy.

Mr. and Mrs. Waller lived together to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and in the fall of that year Mr. Waller passed away on Oct. 27, 1931. They formerly owned the Mrs. Roy Dobbs building on Main street.

After the death of her husband, Mrs. Waller made her home with her two daughters. For the past fifty years she had been a devote member of the Methodist church at Clear Lake. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters and Eastern Star lodges and held a life membership in the W.T.C.U.

Besides her two daughters she is survived by seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Chas. Atkinson, two brothers, Robert Atwood and Fred Atwood, all of Brodhead, Wis.

Most of the grandchildren attended the funeral as well as Mr. and Mrs. McMahon of Lawler and Mr. and Mrs. Trev Gillaspie of Lincoln, Neb.
