AGED RESIDENT DIES AT FARM HOME

Funeral services for Mrs. G. C. Ashland, 72, a long time resident of this community, who died at her farm home south of Clear Lake Friday, will be held Thursday (today) afternoon. Rites will be conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church following a brief prayer service at the home at 1:30. The Rev. Ruben Mostrom will conduct the service and burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Ashland was born Julia Pletan and on December 12, 1889 was married to G. C. Ashland at Fergus Falls, Minn., by the Rev. Mr. Vold. They came to Clear Lake and settled on the farm that has been their home since.

Mrs. Ashland is survived by her husband and eight children who are, Christopher, John, Isabelle, Edward, Ole, Carl, Mrs. Louis Kotz and Mrs. Clifford rice, all living near Clear Lake. There are also 23 grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Ashland celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in December, two years ago. Mrs. Ashland was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
