H. A. LORD, 71, DIES AT HOME
FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD AT WARD’S TUESDAY, 2:30 P.M.CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Harry A. Lord, 71, who died at his home, 302 Fifth street, suddenly early Sunday morning following a heart attack suffered Saturday evening, will be held at Ward’s funeral home Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor of the Methodist church, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.
Mr. Lord was born at Dixon, Ill., Sept. 5, 1871, the son of Henry and Helen Lindsay Lord. When about 14 years old he moved with the family to Britt where he grew to manhood. He was married Feb. 8, 1900, at Emmetsburg, to Miss Winifred Morrison of Britt, who survives.
To them were born three sons, Charles B. Lord, Grose Point Farms, Mich.; Paul M. Lord, Philadelphia, Pa., and H. A. “Bert” Lord, Jr., Beaumont, Tex. Charles and Paul arrived Monday morning and Bert was expected to arrive Monday evening for the funeral. Also surviving are three grandchildren.
The family lived in Texas several years, coming to Clear Lake in 1919. During his active years Mr. Lord worked on a Britt newspaper; later he was employed by a telephone company. He was a member of the Methodist church.
