Obituary - Rose Marie (Paschka) Pearce Barnes

Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, IowaRose M. Pearce Barnes, 83, of Mason City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (October 26, 2010) in Mason City.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday (October 28, 2010) at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. N.E., Mason City. A private family graveside will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Highway 122 West, Mason City.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be left to the Rose Pearce Barnes Memorial Fund.
Rose Marie Paschka was born on February 25, 1927 in Chaska, Minn. to Erwin "Pat" and Myrtle (Johnson) Paschka. She was united in marriage to Walter F. "Babe" Pearce and to this union two children were born, Walter and Julie. In 1976 Rose was married to John Barnes, Sr.
For over 15 years Rose worked for Hy-Vee West in Mason City in the Deli, where she made many friends. On the weekends Rose enjoyed working at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.
Rose loved music and dancing; she was a very social person and loved interacting with people. Rose's greatest love and enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a proud member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Those grateful in sharing in Rose's life are her children, Walter (Melody) Pearce, Mason City, and Julie (Kenny) Morehead, Orlando, Fl; grandchildren, Francesca, Regina, Fidel, Julie, Heather, and Macey; great grandchildren, Angelica, Esperanza, Ariana, Belicia, Don-Oscar, William, Angelia, Dominic, Sharmila, and Jackson; sisters, Hallie Bricker, Renelda "Nelda" (Joseph)Fick, and Meredith "Toots" Paschka; as well as extended family members and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Barnes, Sr.; brothers, Merlin "Sonny" Paschka, William "Pudge" Paschka, and Duane "Bud" Paschka; a sister-in-law, Alice Paschka; and a brother-in-law, Brick Bricker.
