Guy W. Bates Service Held

Funeral services for Guy W. Bates, 77, retired farmer and life-long resident of Burchinal who died Tuesday, were held Friday afternoon at the Patterson-James Mason City Chapel.

Dr. George Truman Carl, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated.

Mrs. H. H. Harnack was soloist; Mrs. Earl Ehlers, organist. Mrs. Fred Best and Mildren Stanley were in charge of flowers.

Pallbearers were Fred Benn, John Kennedy, Ray Best, D. Carstens, Ralph Knnedy and Frank Sturges. Burial was in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Burchinal. The Patterson-James Funeral Chapel was in charge.
