Frank Hoare Service to Be Tuesday

Funeral services for Frank A. Hoare, 96, who died Saturday at at Mason City hospital, following a sudden illness, will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. at the McAuley and Son Chapel. The Rev. Wilbur F. Dierking, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

Mr. Hoare was born Nov. 28, 1858, at Mineral Point, Wis., son of John and Sally (Murrish) Hoare. He attended normal school near Mineral Point, and then music school in Chicago, studying violin.

Upon completion of his college education, he taught violin at Cornell College, Mt. Vernon. He also conducted an orchestra along with his teaching of music.

He was marrired to Nellie Crippen Jan. 3, 1892, at St. Paul, Minn. They made their first home in Duluth, where they lived from 1892 until 1897. They had various residences until they came to Mason City in 1914. He had lived here since that time and had recently made his home at 120 1/2 S. Federal. He had retired from teaching music in 1918 but had been a member of the Musicians Union.

Surviving are a son, Emmett J. Hoare, and a daughter, Mrs. L. T. (Frances) Bowen, Mason City; four grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nov. 15, 1940, and by two sisters and eight brothers.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
