MRS. JAMES WOODWORTH DIES AT 88

CLEAR LAKE – A prayer service for Lulu Woodworth, 88, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ward Funeral Home, Clear Lake. The Rev. Arthur Krebs, pastor of the Congregational Church, Clear Lake, will officiate.

Mrs. Woodworth died Thursday in a hospital in California, following an illness of two days. She was the mother of D. J. Woodworth of Clear Lake.

Funeral services were held at the Glen Haven Funeral Home, San Fernando, Calif., Saturday. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from Monday evening until the time of the services.

Lulu Carman Woodworth was born July 21, 1876, at Waukegan, Ill., daughter of George and Ella Carman. She was graduated from Northwestern University in 1895 and was married to James B. Woodworth, March 21, 1896.

In 1903 they moved to a farm near Rudd and continued to live there until his death in 1935. Since then she had made her home with her children in Mason City and Jackson, Mich.

For the last few years, she had lived in her own home at Northridge, Calif.

Surviving are two sons, D. J. Woodworth, Clear Lake, and James C. Woodworth, Dickinson, N.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Lloyd C. (Laura) Thomas, Haywood, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Beulah) Wood, Santa Barbara, Calif.; Mrs. Jay (Mary) Thraves, Granada Hills, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
