MRS. JOHN W. PROCTOR RITES ARE THURSDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. John W. (Allie) Proctor, 81, of 1014 7th Ave. N., died Monday morning in a Mason City hospital after an illness of about five months.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Worthie K. Usher officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation is to be at the Wilcox-Osthus Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Proctor was born July 25, 1890, the daughter of Dirk and Engil (Wirtz) Steenhard, near Ackley. She was educated in Franklin County rural schools. She was married Jan. 23, 1912, to John W. (Will) Proctor in the Zion Reformed parsonage near Sheffield. In 1924 they moved to Clear Lake where he worked for the Farmers Lumber Co. and later for the city parks department until his retirement. He has been a resident of the Good Shepherd Geriatric Center in Mason City about four years.

Mrs. Proctor is survived by her husband; 10 children, George Proctor, Rockwell; Mrs. W.O. (Ann) Ward. Mrs. Milt (Wilma) Young, Verne Proctor and Allan Proctor, all of Clear Lake; Thomas, Meservey; Harold, Fort Meyers, Fla.; John, Carlisle; Mrs. Leland (Clara) Brown, Lake Mills; Mrs. Delno (Betty) Hall, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Abbie Meints, Thornton; a brother, Dirk Steenhard, Sheffield; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church. The Proctors celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in January.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, include Marvin Proctor, Marty Proctor, Dale Proctor, Kenneth Proctor, Delno Hall and Dennis Hall. Mrs. Frances Miller will be the organist; Mrs. Donald Kacer, the soloist, and Harold Miller, the usher.
