ESTHER ERICKSON

Esther C. Erickson, 73, of 1112 First Ave. N., Clear Lake, died Friday, Feb. 2, at her home of natural causes.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 6, at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dean Hess and the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of services.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Esther C. Erickson Memorial Fund.

She was born April 9, 1916, in Racine, Wis., a daughter of Christian and Helene (Gregersen) Thompsen. She graduated from Racine High School and attended the Lutheran Bible Institute, Minneapolis,

She married Glenn Erickson on Oct. 8, 1938, in Racine. They moved to Clear Lake and lived on a farm southeast of the city until 1969.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, church circles, ALCW, DoDays and Rural Lakettes and was a volunteer at the Handicap Village Store.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn, of Clear Lake; three daughters, Ellen Friday, Coon Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Salge, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Robert (Bernice) Klongerbo, Oronoco, Minn.; two sons, Glenn R., Clear Lake, and Eric, Maplewood, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Thompsen, Racine, Wis., and John Thompsen, Perkins, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and one sister.

The pallbearers, who were nephews, were Luther Erickson, Phillip Erickson, Paul Erickson, Marcus Erickson, Clement Erickson, David C. Erickson, Douglas Erickson, John Erickson, David Erickson, Mark Erickson, Robert Fisher, Richard Thompsen, John Thompsen, and James Thompsen.

Organist Lisa Tiffany accompanied soloist Linda Nuehring.

Transcriber’s Note – Esther Erickson was born April 9, 1916, died February 2, 1990 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section D Row 9.
