LEN FRANTZ, 67, SUCCUMBS HERE
Was Mason City Resident 48 YearsCharles Lenford "Len" Frantz, 67, Ventura Heights, died at a local nursing home at 5:45 Wednesday morning following an illness of a week. He was a resident of Mason City for 48 years and was formerly employed by the Northwestern States Portland Cement company.
Mr. Frantz, a lifetime resident of Iowa, was born at Burr Oak April 26, 1875. He moved to Rockford with his family and later moved to Mason City. He was employed by the Northwestern States Portland Cement company until June 1941. In September 1942 he moved to Ventura Heights.
Mr. Frantz was married to Hattie Willey Arthur at Nashua on Nov. 27, 1929.
He is survived by a son, Leslie L., in Chicago; a sister, Ada M. Haskell of Mason City; three brothers, Peter, Clive and Otis, all of Mason City; and three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Frantz was preceded in death by his first wife, Effie Turnbull Frantz, his parents, and a sister, Edith.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the McAuley and son funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clair Hicks of the Clear Lake Church of Christ in charge. Burial will be in Rockford cemetery at Rockford.
