Obituary - Dickie Lynn Thada
February 15, 1941 ~ December 15, 2002

Dickie (Dick) Lynn Thada, 61, Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002 at the Mercy Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa. A private graveside service was held at the Pleasantview Cemetery, Thornton, Iowa. According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.

Dick was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Thornton, the son of Merlyn J. and Helen (Harmon) Thada. He attended Thornton Schools. Dick worked for a construction company building grain elevators. He was involved in a car accident at the age of seventeen, which left him handicapped. Since the accident he has lived at Kathleen¹s Care Center, Emmettsburg, Iowa, and just recently moved to Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Dick is survived by his father, Merlyn Thada, Mason City; one sister, Barbara Card, St. Louis Park, Minn.; and two nephews, Cameron Card and Kyle Card, St. Louis Park; and aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Dick was preceded in death by his mother in 1998.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
