ELIZABETH V. “LIZABETH” MCENIRY

Elizabeth V. "Lizabeth" McEniry 78, of 1322 North Shore Drive, died Monday, May 22, 2006, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 25, 2006, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. South, with Msgr. John Hemann officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North Fourth Street, from 5-7 p.m. with a scriptural wake service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a rosary service. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral at the church Thursday. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and Humane Society, Mason City.

Elizabeth V. Sheehan was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Winner, S.D., the daughter of William and Margaret (McDonald) Sheehan. Elizabeth attended catholic schools in Des Moines. She was a consumer shopper at Safeway in Des Moines for 17 years. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Louie K. Mead Dec. 26, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa; to this union two children were born. She moved to Clear Lake in 1976. She worked for Ben Hall at Bix Furniture Antique Restoration as a furniture refinisher and as a hostess at the Regatta Inn in Clear Lake. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. McEniry on Aug. 26, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Liz loved collecting antiques and shopping; her greatest love was spending time with family and friends. She touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. "My daily thinking: honor and love God and your family, and if you can make someone happy, you will be happy too!"

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas J. McEniry, Clear Lake; daughter, Debra A. (Ken) Schroeder, Clear Lake; granddaughter, Jessica E. Guess, Des Moines; sisters, Patricia Reynolds, Des Moines, Mary O'Connor, Rockville, Md., and Janet Boesen, Boone, Iowa; sister-in-law, Shirley Sheehan, Barrington, Ill; stepchildren, Mike (Pam) McEniry, Rockford, Iowa, Steve McEniry, Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Linda (Craig) Humburg, Clear Lake; step-grandchildren, Rachel McEniry, Kelsey McEniry, Derek Humburg, Luke Humburg; along with many loving aunts, nieces, nephews, friends, and her puppy, Miss Trina.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Sheehan; son, David W. Mead; brothers, John W. "Bill" Sheehan, James Robert Sheehan; brothers-in-law, Thomas Reynolds, Joseph O'Connor, John W. Boesen, and her dearest companion puppies, Smokey and Miss Daisy.
