CHARLES “CHUCK” WILLIAM SPILLETT
Charles "Chuck” William Spillett, 81, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, Iowa with the Rev. Janet Wearda officiating. Inurnment was in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.
Charles "Chuck" William Spillett, was born on Aug. 22, 1922, in Rockwell, Iowa, the son of William and Crystal May (Ball) Spillett. He attended and received his education in the Mason City Schools. In his earlier years, Chuck worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Mason City and, until his retirement, he worked for many years at the Rose Bowl in Mason City. Chuck spent his last years at the farm in rural Clear Lake, sitting on a bench, smoking cigars, and drinking Diet Pepsi.
He loved playing musical instruments, listening to music, and fishing.
Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Viola Awe, Clear Lake and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lillian Hoffman and Daisy Darlene Schellsmidt, and a niece, Jackie White.
