February 06, 1956 ~ May 17, 2013NEWBURGH, NY - Jeanne Marie Kalish, nee Chenault, a 22-year resident of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Friday, May 17, 2013, at home. She was 57.
Daughter of the late Miles Stanley Chenault and Phyllis Nissen, she was born on February 6, 1956, in Mason City, IA. On April 30, 1983 in Yonkers, NY, she married the late John Kalish.
Jeanne retired from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, where she worked as a Payroll Clerk. She was also a graduate of Mercy College, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons: Richard Kalish of Newburgh, and John Kalish of Boston, and his wife, Elizabeth; her brother, Steven Chenault, and his wife, Won Cha; sisters-in-law: Barbara Chenault and Jill Chenault, and nieces and nephews: Dale Chenault, Kate Chenault, and David Chenault. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers: Larry Chenault and Ron Chenault.
Jeanne taught her sons her love of reading and music, to enjoy simple things, and to have the quiet strength to persevere through life's challenges and surprises.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
