MRS. F. D. WAY DIES AT HOME
FUNERAL AT METHODIST CHURCH SUNDAY, 4 P,M.
MARCH 23, 1873 – JULY 17, 1947

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Mrs. F. D. Way, 74, who died at her home, 212 S. East Street at 10:55 o’clock Thursday evening, will be held at the Methodist church at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Warner M. Hubbard, pastor, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery. Ward’s funeral home is in charge.

Mrs. Way was born Samantha Bugher, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Bugher, in Henry county, Ill., March 23, 1873. When she was 6 months old the family moved by covered wagon to the vicinity of Swaledale where she grew to womanhood.

March 22, 1893, she was married to Floyd D. Way. They lived in Nebraska 2 years before returning to Cerro Gordo county to spend the remainder of their lived. They came to Clear Lake 24 years ago.

Mrs. Way was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, her husband, who died Nov. 20, 1922, and a son, Bryan W. Way, who died Nov. 6, 1911. Surviving are 2 daughters, the Misses Rena and Esther Way, at home; a son, George Way, Clear Lake, and 2 grandchildren, Jeannette and Bryan Way.

Mrs. Way suffered a broken leg about 4 years ago and had scarcely recovered from that before she suffered a stroke in March, 1946, followed by a relapse last October, since when she had been continually bedfast.

Mrs. Way was a member of the Methodist church, Royal Neighbors of America and Women’s Relief Corps.
